This Reporter Tried to Shatter 14-Year-Old Venus Williams' Confidence. Watch Her Dad Shut Him Down.
August 31, 2018It turns out 14-year-old Venus Williams was similarly as sure about her tennis abilities as present-day Venus Williams—and as it should be. By the age of 12, the future Olympic gold medalist had just served her way to a 63– 0 record on the United States Tennis Association junior visit and was positioned in the lead position among the under-12 players in Southern California.
So when a columnist scrutinized a 14-year-old Venus Williams' trust in a video talk with, her dad Richard Williams ventured in.
"I know I can beat her...I'm extremely sure," a grinning Venus William told the journalist of an up and coming match, to which the columnist asked, "You say it so effortlessly. Why?"
Venus Williams was prepared to protect herself, starting to state "Cause I trust it," when her dad ventures into the outline, unwilling to endure a journalist's uncertainty of his little girl's ability.
"You must comprehend that you're managing [the] picture of a 14-year-old youngster. Also, this tyke is going to be out there playing when your old ass and I are going to be in the grave." See the full clasp underneath.
